Why Irish Dancing Life?
We have chosen the Celtic Tree of Life symbol to represent our school and beliefs.  The tree of life symbolizes roots, growth, and development.  The Trinity is the basis of the tree.  The tree is divine and sacred to all ancient cultures.  It is honored as the giver of all life.  It is a source of wisdom and hope.  As the tree grows both above and below ground, it denotes an enduring link between the upper and lower worlds: a connection between Heaven and Earth.  It is a reminder of the eternal cycle of life.  The tree is a universal symbol of life, it represents the union of woman and man and its branches bear fruit.  The Celtic Tree of Life stems from and finishes with the same knot, signifying the cyclical nature of life.
The Kristin Butke School was established in 2003 in Nashville, Tennessee. Since then, the school has opened up to dancers in Oklahoma.  KBS holds 8 Regional titles, dancers that have placed in the top 5 at the National level, as well as World Qualifiers and World Medalists.
Irish dancing has always been and will always be in my life.  It has given my family great opportunities.  My mom makes costumes, my dad sells Galway Irish crystal and Belleek for awards at competitions, my brother is a feis musician, and my sister coached me at home through my competitive years.   I have made amazing friendships, traveled the world, and became more disciplined because of Irish dancing. I am now a teacher and judge, and I thoroughly enjoy both!  I want to thank all my mentors for sharing with me all they know, especially my family, PJ and Judy McCafferty, Tim O’Hare, Gordon Shaffer, Shelia Hayes, Liam Harney, Colin Dunne, The Willis family, Donnie Golden,  Joannie Madden & Cherish the Ladies, Catriona Hale, Marie Duffy, and Michael Flatley.  Thank you for inspiring me to want to be a better dancer!  I also want to thank my loving husband, Steve for believing in me when I don’t, and supporting me every day.  The only easy day was yesterday.”   -Kristin Butke Zagorski
